Infrastructure

A. Tap Off – CUGL has two Tap off points to lift natural gas. First is Sanchendi and another on is Ashirwan. Both Tapp off are from HVJ trunk line and within Kanpur city limits.
B. CGS City Gate Station is the nodal point to receive, odorize and deliver the gas at a required pressure to different locations of the city. CUGL is receiving Natural Gas from GAIL’s largest pipeline i.e. HVJ (Hazira-Vijaypur-Jagdishpur) at Sachendi & Ashirwan and gas is transported from Sachendi to CUGL’s City Gate Station at Fazalganj and Ashirwan to Chakeri CGS.
C. Steel line network Steel pipelines are high pressure lines and carries gas at a higher pressure. Natural Gas is supplied through steel pipeline from CGS to DRS and also connecting CNG stations. Presently CUGL has laid 60 kms of steel pipeline in Kanpur and another 9 kms of steel pipeline in Bareilly.
D. CNG Stations CNG stations are used for dispensing CNG to automobiles. Natural gas is compressed up to 250 bars and then supplied to vehicles at required pressure. Presently CUGL has 10 CNG stations in Kanpur and 1 CNG station in Bareilly.)
E. DRS District Regulatory Station (DRS) is connected with steel pipe grid which is a zonal point to distribute the gas to all segments of customers through MDPE pipeline. DRS receives, regulates and distributes gas as per the requirement of individual customers. It is again refining gas before supply to customer end. Presently CUGL has 6 DRS in Kanpur and 2 DRS in Bareilly.)
F. MDPE network(MDPE pipelines are low pressure lines and carries gas at a lower pressure. Natural Gas is supplied through MDPE pipeline from DRS to MRS at customer premise. Presently CUGL has laid 44 kms of MDPE pipeline in Kanpur and another 14 kms of MDPE pipeline in Bareilly)
